Switching from finasteride to dutasteride for a lower/resolved side effect profile? Advice appreciated

Considering switching from finasteride to dutasteride. FIN 1mg on an ED dose gave me sides, brain fog, lower libido etc. On a MWF schedule I was able to mitigate it somewhat, but I really don’t want side effects. I did respond in terms of hair regrowth and prevention of loss at both dosages.

I’ve noticed some users on reddit anecdotally switched from FIN which gave them side effects to DUT which then stopped/resolved them. I have a prescription for .5mg of DUT but I’m worried by the horror stories I see on the tressless reddit. Some speculation was the hormone profile of the individuals was the culprit. Here are my pre treatment levels if that means anything.

1mg oral fin daily and 0.5mg oral dut daily will have the same side effect profile, you could go maybe go with 0.5mg dut every other day for potentially a lower risk of side effects for the same improvements as 1mg fin. Be careful of nocebo effect, fin shouldn’t cause those side effects in the first place
