Progress in miniaturization or time to go to a psychiatrist?

Im 21, Is this a further stage of androgenic alopecia? A year ago, I visited a dermatologist and a trichologist with a problem of receding hairline – I received conflicting information. The dermatologist recommended minoxidil for the receding hairline, while the trichologist said that apart from the receding hairline, I shouldn’t worry because I have good hair density (3-4 hairs per follicle on my head). Today, it seems to me that this is no longer the case. It is still fine, but the density is noticeably lower, and the parting is becoming visible, especially when my hair is wet. And YES, I KNOW I PROPABLY AM OVERLY SENSITIVE ABOUT MY HAIR, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS HAD VERY THICK HAIR and would like to keep it that way. No one on my mother’s side has gone bald, but my father is unfortunately bald, which worries me.

Can you see miniaturization in these photos? I have long, curly hair, so when it’s dry, it still looks thick and I can’t see any thinning on the top of my head - but in terms of volume, I’m starting to feel it. Or maybe it’s time to see a psychiatrist? :joy:

Hairline seems a little bit more filled and stabilized after using minoxidil for almost a year 1x a day. I fear using it on the whole scalp because I have sebderm, and my scalp condition fluctuates between very good and itchy/red/lots o

f dandruff. Plus I fear heavy shedding which would be very visible with my long hair.

Thanks for help!

A psychiatrist is actually a good choice because stress is a great first trigger for increased shedding.

Seborrheic dermatitis can worsen MPB, there is a higher level of DHT in the affected area. I use Nizoral shampoo and minoxidil has also helped me, you have to try which shampoo works for you. You don’t look like you have severe seboderm, the shampoo can be enough.

If you are worried about hair loss, you can use a small amount of finasteride, like 0.05 mg. And watch yourself if your MPB gets any worse, or ask a girlfriend. Actually i do not know if this is good advice, you are still young and your hair looks good.
