Dutasteride and Minoxidil User Considering Microneedling vs HT for Crown

Currently taking dut .5mg and 5mg oral minox daily for about 8 months consistently (previously been on 1mg finasteride and 2.5mg oral for the last couple years) and crown has been stable with little regrowth/thickening and derm thinks I would be a good candidate.

I have not added micro needling to my routine but wonder if it makes sense to try (would I need to add topical oral or is micro needling alone significantly effective?) but am somewhat hesitant if scarring would interfere with a potential future HT.

I’m leaning towards HT as I don’t think I need many grafts (2k?) but not sure if there are many great recommendations in the Dallas area without spending a lot of $$$.

Should I give micro needling a try and switch up my routine first or just bite the bullet of a HT?

Microneedling could be a good addition to your current routine and might improve outcomes, especially if paired with topical min. Scarring is generally minimal, so it shouldn’t affect a future HT. If you want to try less invasive options first, give microneedling a shot, but an HT is a solid choice if you prefer a surgical approach.
