Picture is for medicines used in (respectively from up to down) March 2025, October 2025 and late October-November 2025. I lost 6 months due to dermatologists who did not prescribe me finasteride or dutasteride. Some months pass, I believe the process has stabilized, so the blame is on part me too but anyways I decided to hop on the finasteride/dutasteride and oral minoxidil myself after noticing a slight hair loss and realizing the situation had not stabilized. Only later I was able to get a topical version of finasteride and minoxidil which (topical minoxidil) is ineffective in majority of the people due to lacking the necessary enzyme to convert it as it is a pro-drug. Being fed up with losing time and resources (eg. money) with dermatologists, I decided to take the matters into my own hands and for the past month and half, I have been on meds myself. Now I don’t obviously recommend people to take these without a doctor’s prescription or recommendation however you should keep in mind that a proper dermatologist is what you should pick. Do NOT be like me who had lost precious time. PICK A PROPER DOCTOR. DO NOT FALL FOR THE MISTAKE I HAD FALLEN.
in the papers numbered two you can see zinc supplements, a tablet supplement with biotin, b12 etc. which are useless for balding. They will do their job if you have already great hair and want to thicken it, but they are useless against balding. Not to mention I was getting 65mg of zinc each day, based on the second prescription I received in october. Only later I got to know that a human needs around 10-20mg for an adult male, where I dropped them immediatly. A whopping 65MG! You can get poisoned! A doctor has prescribed me these, yep a doctor! Choose good doctors fellas or you will lose your hair, money and maybe even your life. Thanks for reading.
papers numbered 1, the first derm’s prescriptions. he did not prescribe finasteride
despite the AGA assesment. papers numbered 2, the second “expert in his field” derm’s prescriptions, topical minoxidil that is inferior to oral minoxidil due to lower response rates and topical finasteride worse than oral finasteride, fin+min was prescribed as a mix. paper number 3, what I use to this date (for a month roughly) against androgenetic alopecia, no prescription required for any of them. proscar 1/5 (finasteride) for 3-4 months until dut builds up then I am dropping it. my blood tests show nothing abnormal too, so no sides.
ps:paper number 2 has xpecia tablets prescribed that i dont use, which have 15mgs of zinc so 50+15=65 mgs.
isotretnioin+erythromycincream in picture number 2 is useful for acne, but ONLY if the underlying issue is addressed that is DHT, topical fin that was prescribed to me is useless in that regard and only oral fin or perhaps dut will solve that problem.
I also was prescribed clobetasol propionate, which is NOT suitable for you if it is only purpose is to get rid of the alcohol-content related irritation of topical minoxidil (which never existed for me in the first place). This is why I was prescribed it
by the first derm. My research shows is used for severe cases of acne, though I am not sure and that is prolonged use is related to permanent skin problems
Another reason to be picky about good dermatologists.
