8 Months on oral min, time to add Fin?

Been on 2.5mg oral minox going for almost 9 months now, and while shedding has almost entirely stopped, and where I’m at right now isn’t that bad, I was really hoping to see regrowth of what I’ve lost by now. Is it time to add oral finasteride as well? Or should i consider increasing my dose of Min? I got my current prescription from an in-person derm, and she was kind of against prescribing me Fin just because of the possible side effects but almost all of the significant progress pictures I see on here are people using either both Min and Fin, or just Fin.

Other info if it matters 23M, gym 4x per week, pretty decent diet and use biotin supplements. Thankfully I had really thick hair to begin with so even after a year or two of shedding I’m still not doing too bad but at this point it is starting to become noticeable.

Thanks in advance for any insight you might have.

Adding fin to your regimen can help since it tackles DHT, which min doesn’t address. It’s common to see more results with both. Just be aware of potential side effects like initial shedding. If you’re comfortable with that risk, alongside min, it could be beneficial. Check the The Beginner’s Guide for more info on combination treatment.

It’s possible to see more shedding once starting Fin even after being on Min for an extended duration? Good to know, thanks. I’ll have to call my derma to see if she’ll be willing to prescribe it to me, if not i guess i’ll go back to keeps.
