32M Considering Topical Xyon or RU58841 for ED from Oral Dutasteride

32M. No past medical history; I received a FUT hair transplant back in 2023 and was put on dutasteride 0.5mg MWF in combination with 10mg oral min. My hair responded great to the meds, which I have been on for two years.

I started to notice decreased erections/libido about 1 year ago and used viagra to combat these side effects. In the past 6 months my ED has been progressively worse and is now impacting my relationship. I have no morning wood l. No libido..I can’t even get an erection watching porn. If I do get an erection during sex with my partner it’s short lived. Prior to my transplant, I was on fin and had similar sides effects but less hair response. I workout, eat healthy and have normal blood work so at this point I’m just about ready to say fuck it and stop completely. I’d rather have a working dick and be bald.

Recently, I slowly tapered my dutasteride per my MD to see if the medication was messing me up. I have already seen an improvement in my libido and morning wood. As an alternative that is less systemic, my hair doc recommended 3 options: topical Xyon dutasteride, Adegen, or ru58841.

We discussed the pros and cons of each option but I’m still conflicted on deciding. Leaning towards Xyon or ru58841.

Does anyone have any experience with these alternatives instead of oral Dut or Fin?

Switching to a topical option could help with the ED issues since it generally reduces systemic absorption. Xyon and RU58841 are both potential alternatives. Xyon is topical dut, which might still affect you, but probably less. There are more topical dut options out there. Take some trial to see what works best for you.
