Will starting Minoxidil now "steal" my future Finasteride gains?

Will starting Minoxidil now “steal” my future Finasteride gains?

I am planning to use both Finasteride and Minoxidil for hair loss, but I won’t be able to start Finasteride for a few months. I am currently debating between two theories regarding whether I should start Minoxidil right now:

Dependency Concern: If I start Minoxidil first, the hairs that Finasteride could have saved on its own will become dependent on Minoxidil. If I ever stop using Minoxidil, I will lose those hairs. Therefore, I should wait, maximize my gains with Finasteride first, and only use Minoxidil later for whatever hair Finasteride couldn’t recover.

Other Approach: Because they have different mechanisms (Finasteride blocks DHT, Minoxidil stimulates growth), they don’t compete for hairs. Starting Minoxidil now will simply keep the follicles alive and prevent further miniaturization during these waiting months. If I stop Minoxidil later, I will only lose the extra ‘boost’ it provided, while Finasteride will still maintain the baseline of hair it was always capable of saving.

which of these theories is actually correct?

Second theory is correct I believe, best to start min than not to have some strengthening going on and then fin when possible. Best to not stop either except if you have side effects ig. If you don’t want to start min now you could try 2% Ketoconazole shampoo 2-3 times per week, 0.5mm Derma rolling once per week and massaging rosemary oil (preferably in a pre-mixed diluted oil solution) for a few mins at least 3 times per week to promote local blood flow. However nothing beats the efficacy of the core: min and fin.
