What’s the best course of action for me? M27

So my hairline is receding pretty badly. Every time I take a shower I leave tons of hair in the drain. My hair feels dry, thin and every time I run my fingers through it I end up with a bunch of strands in my hand. I’m a bit scared to try finasteride, minoxidil and other chemicals due to the side effects I’ve read about. I’m just scared to lose even more hair. What should I do? :frowning:

Last but not least. Would you recommend any of the products that I see online like “hims” or something similar?

Keep in mind that the side effect profile of finasteride is rather good. Only some 2 % of patients get them. That said, you can introduce is slowly, and you need not go up to the full 1 mg per day. Start with 0.25 mg per day just to convince yourself that the drug isn’t dangerous. Then, after two weeks on that, replace one day’s 0.25 mg dose with a 0.5 mg dose, and do that for a week. Then, once that week has gone, replace another day’s 0.25 mg dose with a 0.5 mg dose, and do that for a week. Continue like this until you hit 0.5 mg per day. If you have no issues whatsoever, then once you’re on 0.5 mg per day, you might as well shoot for 1 mg per day, since that’ll maximize your results (0.5 mg per day will get you ~ 80 % of the DHT suppression 1 mg per day would give you).

years i list here is pure speculation but, finasteride is in my belief if you want to keep your hair for 10-20 years. dutasteride if you want to keep it for 20-40 years. dutasteride+ru58841 if you want to keep it for basically life against AGA (though in later ages hair loss may occur due to other reasons). minoxidil for regrowth, oral>topical in effectiveness if you are a poor responder but topical>oral in side effect profile. oral=topical (roughly equal) if you respond well to topical. low-dose oral (eg 2.5mg-5mg, though 5mg is a bit higher in side effect risk and has an elevated danger profile) is suitable for if you have pets. you may go as low as 1.25mg for oral minoxidil, if that is effective for you, no need to go with higher dose. always consult a doctor for all the medicines here and keep in mind that ru58841 is a research chemical, you cannot get one prescribed and has risks, usage fully at your own risk and responsibility.
