Switching from Dut to Fin to remove ED?

I’ve been on hair loss medication since I turned 18 so this has definitely been a big thing in my life since I was about 15. I’ve managed to slow my hair loss down to the point I’m 24 and still have thick hair with slight recession in the temples and crown over the years but I’m convinced I’d have nothing if I didn’t do anything. In the first couple years I started on finasteride and then switched to a combination of Dut and Fin and in the last 9 months approximately I’ve gone just purely Dut.

I’ve had problems with Alcohol binge drinking starting from 2022, and I only starting to have my first ever sexual encounters being around 22. And in every single moment I realised I couldn’t stay hard, it was so damn annoying and I kept attributing it to me being drunk and not sober until I tried it sober this year and realised my body can’t maintain it anymore like I did in previous years and have realised it could be me up taking on the Dut. I now notice it happens on my own too, and it just isn’t pleasurable at all to even think about anything intimate anymore.

I have had experiences with chronic anxiety my whole life, and depression in the last 5 years, so I generally feel quite numb anyway but I feel maybe transitioning back to fin might be a good solution.

I’m changing my dose to once a week for Dut, but I remember when I was 15 going on these forums honestly ruminating what I could be doing to save my hair, I’m sure I had some kind of body dysmorphia because the thought of losing my hair was going to kill me. But now every time I’ve been with someone, I haven’t been able to do anything, I feel so disconnected. I even tried a 25mg Viagra (I know it’s a low dose) and that did absolutely nothing.

Anyone have any advice who has had these symptoms and switched back to Fin and it was all okay? I knew this was a problem but it wasn’t until I spoke with my dad and he asked if I was crazy that I’m sacrificing this for my hair, but it’s a really hard dilemma. I can not stop taking these otherwise I’ll crumble.

Switching from dut to fin could help with ED since fin typically has less severe sexual side effects compared to dut. You may see changes relatively quickly because fin has a shorter half-life, but full adjustments can take a while. Keep monitoring how you feel and adjust as needed.
