I have been taking oral minoxidil for several years now (since 2020-2021). This is because I do not tolerate liquid minoxidil well (eczema). I started with 1 mg, but since March 17th this year, I have been taking 4 mg per day. The intention is to switch to the maximum dose of 5 mg per day in the near future.
In addition, I also started taking finasteride in 2023, but in 2024 we saw that this was not producing enough results for me and my dermatologist suggested switching to dutasteride. I started taking it three times a week, but since February 19th this year, I have been taking 0,5mg every day.
I also had a DNA test done, which showed that I should take two supplements: arginine and collagen. I now take these every day as well.
Over the past few years, I have also tried many other supplements, dermarolling, shampoos, etc. Unfortunately, I feel that my situation is not improving, on the contrary. I have another problem. In recent years, I have developed chronic eczema. This flares up periodically on my scalp in the form of dandruff. We have tried everything for this (from isotretinoin, itroconazole, shampoos, etc.), but it remains very difficult. My dermatologist says that my hair loss may also partly be caused by this, but it is reversible and not permanent, so that’s good news.
What do we think about the situation?
