Struggling with Hair Regrowth Post-Transplant and Medication Restart

Background:

• 28M, ~8 years of hair loss

• Hair transplant in January (India, ~5,000 grafts)

• Dutasteride 0.5mg daily (1+ year)

• Topical minoxidil 5% + finasteride mix ( 2 years)

• Oral minoxidil 2.5mg every other day (also started 6 months ago)

• Earlier history: finasteride + minoxidil, with a gap in treatment

The issue:
When I first started meds years ago, I saw rapid improvement. I stopped for a while, and the loss came back worse. Since restarting , I’ve never gotten close to that initial response.

My doctor says the meds aren’t working as expected and wants me to wait a few more months.

Looking for input from people who’ve been through something similar.

Consistent use of treatments is crucial, especially after stopping for a while. Fin and dut help maintain existing hair, while min aids growth. Since you’ve restarted treatment, it can take several months to assess improvements. Be patient, as hair cycles can vary. If you haven’t seen improvement after a year, consider consulting your doctor about adjusting your treatment plan.
