Stoped minoxidil 5 weeks ago and still bloated

Hello everyone, I started using minoxidil because of baldness. I had very nice growths and it worked very well. However, after 2 months of use, I saw that my face was swollen. Puffy face. I wanted to make sure if it was from minoxidil and I put it down 2 times and it came off immediately. However, when I put it down for good, it was the same that for the first 2 days the swelling disappeared, but after those 2 days it returned. I stopped it 5 weeks ago, I see that there is an improvement, but I don’t understand why it takes so long. Can anyone help? Will my face be normal again? I take great care of myself. I don’t eat processed food, I have a low bf 12%, I train 4 times a week, I do cardio. I eat enough salt and drink a lot of water. In the same way, tests for kidneys, liver and hormones have shown that everything is fine

yeah, that kind of puffiness can definitely be from Minoxidil, some people get water retention or mild facial swelling even from the topical version if their body absorbs it more than usual. Since you said it improved after stopping but came back, it might just be your body still rebalancing things. It can take a while, sometimes even a couple of months, for the swelling to fully go down after quitting. You’re already doing everything right with diet, training, and hydration, so it’s likely just a slow process. Some people find things like lymphatic massage, dandelion tea, or upping potassium help speed things up. Odds are it’ll fade out with time.

I also think this is happening to me (3 months in) so have been advised to half the dose. If it doesnt subside in the next to weeks I will stop entirely.

Yep fam where are in the same boat. For me I came from the oral side and it was constant urge to pee… bloated giving me inflammation to the GI.

I would recommend trying an infra-red sauna for 45 - 60 mins, it seemed to fix for me and afterwards lowered dose to see if i puff up again

@Will_Bennett are you seeing any regrowth?

Cause its not min. Why min should do that?

sorry i was referring to the sauna as clearing the water retention from the min
