Starting topical fin treatment (31M) - finally doing something about this fucking disease

Description

Starting my first topical fin treatment today!

I’m a diffuse thinner, making my way from a NW 2 to a 3. The hairline’s still ok, but my fringe is super frail and it’s progressing to the point that the only occasions my scalp isn’t visible, is in a dim lit room. When my hair’s wet, I can only feel horror. I hate it.

Well, today no more! My order of 180 x 1mg fin will arrive today, and I’ve got pg and ethanol all stocked up. Still have to do a day at work, but I’m so excited to make my first topical solution this evening and finally do something about it. I’ll start off slow with topical application and evaluate month by month to up the dose or switch to oral, in consultation with my dermatologist. I’ve also read that diffuse thinners respond well so I’m hoping I can get some results with relative ease. Also, I once tried oral for about a week a couple of years back (chickened out due to placebo) and one of the first things I noticed is how relaxed my scalp felt at end of the week, making me realize there’s a constant slight itch/irritation/inflammation on my head. I can feel it itching right now, eating away at my precious follicles. I guess the fact that the itch dissapeared in less than a week means that there’s at least a chance it’ll work.

This time I’m feeling more calm and determined. I’m not gonna chicken out, I’ll trust the process and just chill out and not think too much about it. I hope that the fact of simply taking matters in my own hands is enough to stop stressing out and worrying.

I’ll post some progress pics in a year or so, wish me luck fellas!

Welcome to the good fight! Also has a bit of advice, if you’re interested to see if your hair loss is only androgenetic alopecia then I would suggest that you try to find a dermatologist that can give you a biopsy.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m gonna ask my dermatologist, but the next available slot is in january, and I’m simply not waiting any longer.

I will ask for blood tests and a biopsy though.
