Description

I’m 29m, I’ve been losing hairs since 2022.

I suffered from my first “spike” in 2023 and lost a lot of hair at that time, especially on the temples with a lot of diffuse thinning at the time. My scalp was nowhere to be seen yet, but the loss of volume was still enough to be acknowledged by friends and family.

I learned a lot about potential treatments and solutions, but decided it was too early to get a transplant and decided to stay away from fin to avoid potential side effects.

I started to use topical min the same year (1mL every night before bed, 7-8€ /months), and retrieved a lot of volume while temples got back a little after a really short and mild shedding.

Fast forward 3 years later, developed a huge complex about it and considered getting a transplant this year, but with yearly “spikes” of loss still made me believe getting a transplant is way too early as it wasn’t stabilised yet. Different combs were enough to hide temples.

But this years loss between march and may was really rough, as I lost a lost of volume between the mid and front scalp, I have no more hairs to comb at the front and try to hide it.

I decided to try and shave it at 3mm last month to see if I liked it and tsee the shape of my skull. I don’t hate the result but I’m far from liking it, I have a good beard and thick eyebrows that helps giving shape to my face, but my hopes of getting a stable situation was slowly evaporating as the loss began to be diffuse. I fear that by the time the loss will be stable enough, i won’t have anything to build from.

I decided to learn more about fin and realised that it could be a solution, that it wasn’t the devil I thought it would be and that side effects weren’t “that” common, that I was a bit too influenced by the horror stories that I read on internet. (my thoughts still goes to all of you guys that suffers from those, stay strong friends).

I went to a dermatologist, and was prescribed the french version of topical fin to minimized chances of SE (fincrezo, 4*spray which equals 0,455 mg of fin every night before bed, ~40€ /months).

I saw wonderful results here and on the internet, but already being on min for 3 years makes me think the chances of getting one of those uncommon and spectacular results aren’t that high, I still hopes for the best.

And if I don’t get a good regrowth back in one or 2 years, at least it will be stable enough to get a transplant I guess.

I will come back to give updates, wish me luck boys, and same to you all
