Should I use topical min + fin at 16 even if my dermatologist approved?

I was at my dermatologist today and she prescribed me a mix of 5% topical min and 0.1 topical fin and now I’m scared to use it because of the possible side effects. She explained that because it is local, it wont affect me as much. I know that people here aren’t doctors but I just want to hear what the community has to say and if someone has experience with starting fin around this age.

topical goes systemic to an extent for finasteride. if you are NOT done growing up yet, please do NOT get on the finasteride. it is typically suitable for people aged 18 or above for a reason. OR you may pick a second option, visist a doctor that can evaluate whether you are done growing etc. and with his/her advice you can take finasteride. keep in mind, without finasteride/dutasteride type of drugs, hair loss canNOT be stopped. minoxidil alone won’t work for long, the line eventually crumbles. It is also great you know fin, min etc. around 16. When I was 16, I would never have had thought that I would lose my hair just a year into the future. My hair loss began in 17. I had a rockstars hair and within a few years 1/2 to 3/5 of it just evaporated away, today I am 20 with a ghost of what my hair used to be. do NOT underestimate the norwood reaper.
