Should I Postpone My Hair Transplant to See If Fin/Min Works?

Hey everyone, I’ve got a hair transplant scheduled for the end of June (about 6 weeks from now). I still have some really thin, short hairs in my temple area, and I just started taking Hims Finasteride + Minoxidil pills about a week ago — so too early to see anything yet.

From what I’ve read, those small hairs might mean the follicles are still alive and could come back with treatment. So now I’m wondering: should I wait and see if the meds help, or just go ahead with the transplant as planned? I feel like I might have rushed into getting a transplant too soon.

Would really appreciate any thoughts from folks who’ve been through something similar. Thanks!

About me: I’m a 35-year-old guy, very active — I’ve been working out hard up to five times a week for the past few years. No hair loss in my parents or known grandparents. One of my mom’s parents wasn’t around, so I don’t have info from that side.

Hey, since you’ve just started fin and min, it might be wise to hold off on the transplant and see how the meds work out over the next several months. They can take a while to show results, but if they work well, it might change your plans for surgery. Keep in mind, if you do go with the transplant later, treatment is still usually necessary to maintain non-transplanted hair.
