So I just started .5mg dutasteride maybe a week ago. I’m still taking my fin here and there but taking dutasteride everyday. I was previously on 1mg finasteride, but I’ve lost hair on the crown to the point where it’s starting to look clear I’m balding now. I’ve lost spots on my hairline as well. I’m a diffuse thinner. I decided it’s better now than later to try dutasteride. I haven’t had any shedding yet. Should I add oral minoxidil at this point? I’ve just read wayyyyyyy to many anecdotes about dutasteride killing peoples hair and I’m wondering if it makes sense for me risk going through a oral minoxidil shedding phase atm. Can the combination of the two being started at the same time cause a more intense shedding phase? Should I wait a couple months to try the oral minoxidil? Could starting oral minoxidil actually be beneficial instead?
Oral min is probably beneficial yes. Why not topical min first?
I have pets and I read that it can be harmful to them.
