Oral minoxidil causes me stronger heart beat

Hello,

Oral minoxidil causes me stronger heart beat. I take it in the morning, and feel it especially when I go to bed, which is kind of distracting me from sleep (but not super annoying).
I take 1,25 mg, and it seems to get worse if I try 2,5 mg or 5 mg.

This side effect remains after several weeks.
Should I get worried, is it bad for my heart? Is it likely that it will go away with time?
Thanks.

A stronger heartbeat is a known side effect of oral min. It usually happens because min widens blood vessels, which can make your heart beat stronger. Sometimes the body gets used to it, and the side effect lessens over time, but if it keeps bothering you or gets worse, you might want to discuss with someone who knows about these meds. You can also try lowering the dose or consider a topical form if it’s too much.
