I see that some take it daily (my prescription from Dr. B says to do so), but I see some take it once, three, etc days a week. Why is that and what is correct to do?
All individual, based on current libido, acne, fat mass, masturbation/sex rate. Basicly i saw that people use 0,5 every other day.
dutasteride has a super long terminal / elimination half-life (3-5 weeks), so even taking it weekly can still keep DHT levels low. Some take it daily for max suppression, especially early on, while others go less often (e.g., weekly or every few days) to reduce side effects like libido changes or fatigue. Both can work, so it really depends on your goals, side effect tolerance, and what your real doctor recommends.
Dutasteride 0.5 mg per day is superior to finasteride 5 mg per day. I estimate based on research that taking dutasteride 0.5 mg twice per week is about as effective as finasteride 5 mg per day. Dutasteride is a dose dependent drug. Higher doses + more frequent dosing leads to higher serum dutasteride concentrations.
