My Dermatologist wants me to take Dut because Fin has too many risks?

I (21/m) have been on 1,25mg fin + 5mg oral min for 2y and sadly I am still thinning although fin and min worked great for about 1y and my hairline completely restored itself, then it went downhill.

My Doc randomly called me to come in and said she got a notice that fin has a high risk of suicide and depression (probably because of the EU investigation) and then told me to switch to Dut because the side effects are lower. (never had side effects on fin though).

I am like WTF, where did she get this from?

Nevermind, I already wanted to try it so I will go for it. She told me to switch cold turkey.

Whats the overall recommendation on this sub (dont really trust my doc on this one)? I heard some switch cold turkey some take both for about 6 months for Dut to build up or should I first try 3x/wekk for dut and continue 7x/week fin?

Switching from fin to dut is a common move since dut is more potent. Cold turkey can lead to a temporary increase in DHT, causing more shedding until dut kicks in fully. Some choose to overlap them for a few months to keep DHT low. You could consider trying dut 3x a week while continuing fin to help ease the transition.

If you never had sides on fin, just stop it and start dut right away no need to overlap. Dut is stronger, so switching fully is fine. Just keep an eye on how you feel and any new side effects.

dut has far less mental sides and physical for me
