M20 Vitamin D Deficiency and Hair Thinning

I’m M20 soon to be 21, and been dealing with a lot of hair thinning within the past year or so. This is primarily on top of my head. My crown and my temples aren’t really thinning, only the middle sector of my head is and it’s really affecting my confidence.

I’ve recently taken a blood test and my Vitamin D levels came out to 17ng/mol, which was considered deficient and my doctor put me on 50,000 IU 1x/week for 12 weeks.

I finished my prescription in early March, and haven’t seen any progress in my hair since.

How long does it take for Vitamin D hair thinning to grow thicker?

If your hair thinning is due to vitamin D deficiency, it might take a few months after your levels are corrected to see regrowth. If there’s no change, you might be dealing with androgenetic alopecia, which responds to treatments like min or fin. Check out the Beginner’s Guide for more info on AGA treatments.
