around january this year, i had suddenly noticed thinning/recession just above the temples. and ever since then i have been obsessively fixated on my hair, with constant photographs to compare differences even between the span of 2 days, i havent been able to tell if the recession is serious or if its being caused by some sort of skin condition (as there were reddish areas of the skin forming near the thinning). this constant stress has been extremely debilitating and ive been considering going onto finasteride to try and fix my hair but it would require a lot of scraping by to afford it, is it worth waiting a few months to assess the situation or to try and stop the hair loss as soon as i can? (apologies for bad photos my phone is terrible)
If you suspect a skin condition like seborrheic dermatitis, try using ketoconazole shampoo and see if it helps. Fin can be a good choice if you’re dealing with genetic hair loss. It’s a long-term commitment, so weigh the costs carefully. You can check out The Beginner’s Guide for more info on starting finasteride.
