I noticed very mild crown thinning back in 2013 at the age of 21, and have been taking a daily dose of 1mg fin and 5mg min orally since. I have definitely maintained what I’ve had since then but my hairline has gotten slightly weaker since, basically a NW 1.5 I would say currently at age 33. I’ve had no side effects and I come across as having a full head of hair. However, I’m considering making the switch to DUT to see if anything can be improved on. I was going to give Locklab a shot, and was mainly wondering whether I should start their 4 in 1 tablet with .1mg dut/ 1.1 mg fin/ 5mg min or just just straight into .5mg dut/5mg min instead and forgo the fin cold turkey. Any long term fin users ever make the switch, and which option would be recommended?
Switching from 1mg fin to 0.5mg dut is common if maintenance isn’t enough for you. Dut is stronger since it inhibits both types of the DHT enzyme. You can either transition directly or overlap, but going straight to 0.5mg dut is generally recommended for simplicity since they’re similar. Remember shedding might happen initially.
