For starters, I’ve been on oral fin (1 mg) + oral min (5 mg) for about a year and a half now and I’ve seen noticeable improvement. I’m trying to push my scalp further to boost growth since it seems I’ve hit a plateau. I started microneedling about three months ago, but so many success stories on the subreddit involve MN + topical min, so I’m plunging and adding topical min to my regimen as well. I’ve also read that tretinoin helps conversion of min to min sulfate, but it’s difficult to obtain tretinoin where I live and quite expensive. Does microneedling help with sulfotransferase, and if so is adding tretinoin overkill or should I just buy it? My current plan is MN every 10 days ago topical min everyday except on the day I MN, while continuing my daily oral min + fin.
Adding tretinoin can help with boosting minoxidil’s effects by enhancing absorption, but since you’re already microneedling, its impact might be less amplified. If tretinoin is hard to get and expensive, you might already be getting good results with your current regimen. If you decide to add it and can get it, it might boost your results, but it’s not strictly necessary.
Thanks for the response! I’ve decided to go without tretinoin. Fingers crossed!
