been 3 days using the doc’s prescribed 2.5mg oral min tab and 1mg tugain 10 solution twice a day along with fin.
I have a lot of hair and no doubt will have a lot more in future which is annoying and doesn’t look good. So should I just use the topical min and skip on oral, and incase I don’t see any benefit I could just switch back to oral along while continuing the topical.
Need your suggestion, like is that too much min and rather a slow transition would be better.
safe is a relative term. 2.5mg oral minoxidil gave me adverse effects of changes in blood pressure in excess of 20mmHg systolic and 15 mmHg diastolic. There is no such thing as “safe”. Oral minoxidil has risks and will always have, the type of questions that you need to ask is not “guys is this too much of oral minox ” but rather create a personalized risk-assesment with your doctor. You need to measure your BP after at least 75 (96 hours or 4 full days is better) hours had past since you last had taken an oral tablet of minoxidil. This is at least, because KATP opening effect of oral minoxidil on the vascular system lasts longer than drug’s half life, far-far longer. After 24hrs pass, only trace amount of drug remains on your body but effects on BP continue into the 3-4 day mark roughly, so to state. Once you get this done, taking a baseline measurment of your BP without minoxidil, you can take minoxidil and then re-assess the difference. Any clinically significant difference (eg 10mmHg) is a sign you should consult with a doctor and decide for the further path ahead. I dropped the oral minoxidil for this reason for context. 5mg can be safe or even 0.5mg can cause problems with oral minoxidil, it is a gamble, for most it is gonna be safe but it is only rare until it hits you…
