In need of some guidance in my hair treatment journey

Five years ago, I started using generic topical minoxidil and Pantogar(dietary supplement) with steady results, even through military conscription.

Everything changed in June 2024 when I switched to Regaine, added derma stamping, Novophane, mesotherapy, and PRP at an expensive clinic. My hair seems worse, so I went back to the generic minoxidil and dropped Regaine.

After six months of these treatments (without finasteride or dutasteride) the results were bad, my hair became more see-through under light. I started finasteride (one pill 5mg alternating days, now half a pill so 2.5mg alternating days to manage side effects) and have been on it for a month and shedding. I’ve heard shedding is normal but unsure if I should continue.

My doctor suggests mesotherapy every three months. Should I stay the course, change clinics, switch to dutasteride, or combine both meds? I know I haven’t hit the point of no return yet, so I’m looking for the best path forward.

The shedding around the time of the switch may have been a coincidence, but you really can’t skip fin or dut. 1 month is not enough time to know for sure, you need to wait around a year unfortunately. I would stay the course, and you get dut mesotherapy as a combination treatment because it has low systemic involvement.
