I am suddenly losing density after a year of good results

Description

I was using 3x a week fin from April 2024 to May 2025 with good results. However this month I started noticing a loss of density, increased recession, and a larger bald spot. Other symptoms include a two days of itching and 2 days of increased shedding which have stopped. I did up my dosage to 7x a week in May and switch to a new set of pills after my old ones ran out. Does fin stop working after a year? Attached are pics I took today

Fin doesn’t typically stop working after a year, but the body can react to the change in dosage or switching to a new type of pill. What you’re experiencing may be a temporary effect as your system adjusts. Make sure you’re consistent with your usage and keep monitoring. It’s also possible this is just part of your natural hair cycle. If it continues, stay on the 7x/week dosage for a while to see if the shedding stabilizes. You could also look into adding minoxidil to your routine for additional support. Check The Beginner’s Guide for more insights.

Thanks! I’ll continue to do fin and track my progress. It is possible the lack of density on the sides is just an effect of how im pulling back my hair although my hair is naturally thin. I don’t see the lack of density when im pulling my hair from the sides.

I’m in a very similar position. About a year of stabilisation followed by 1-2 months of recession and density loss (fin only). Do you have an update?

Seems to have stabilized but I don’t know

Looks like an improvement but I doubt you’d see much growth in a single month so it’s most likely the camerawork giving the impression of density. It certainly hasn’t deteriorated, which gives me hope. Does it subjectively feel like hair loss has slowed in the last month?

Subjectively yah, I still lose about 10-30 hairs while combing or in the shower but I don’t think that’s too out of the ordinary.
