Help convince me to switch to oral min

Hey guys,

I’ve been lurking around Tressless for quite some time now. I’ve been on topical minoxidil for close to 2 years, and I’m thinking of switching to oral minoxidil.

There are a few reasons for the switch: mainly convenience, I wouldn’t have to remind myself to apply liquid every 12 hours. I’m also hoping to regrow my hairline and crown area. The second reason is that I may have been a non-responder. I’ve been applying both foam and liquid for what feels like forever, but my crown still isn’t covered and hairline isn’t moving back the clock. It’s embarrassing when people take photos from behind, and I’m the only one who notices the thinning.

My main concern, though, is the side effects. I really don’t want to deal with them. I’ve heard of common ones like bloating, swelling around the face/eye bags, headaches, and even increased resting heart rate.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions, what should I be cautious of?

I don’t have any heart issues, and there’s no family history either. I’d say I’m quite fit, I do a lot of cardio like running and skipping rope. How might oral min affect that? Should I consider getting an ECG checkup before starting?

And yes, I plan to start on the lowest dose possible.

Edit: and yes, i recently started dut 0.5mg, but i slowly tapering off finast before fully committing to dut daily.

oral min can be a good option if topical isn’t working for you, and it’s generally more potent. be aware of systemic side effects like increased heart rate and fluid retention, especially with your active lifestyle. starting at a low dose is a smart move, and since you don’t have heart issues, an ECG isn’t necessarily needed, but it could ease your mind. keep in mind, you’re switching from fin to dut, which is more effective at inhibiting DHT. check out the beginner’s guide for more info.

Thanks. appreciate that input. many people fearmonger oral min as a taboo or a bad thing, while the other half mention they face no side effects. i see oral min able to regrow the hairline as well, so that a plus to me. but thanks, i check out the guide
