Hairloss journey from 18 years of age

Description

Started hairfall at 14, now at 18 I’m starting my hairfall treatment.
The dermat I visited today told me my hairloss is really bad and aggressive but they also told me recovery is very much possible.

I’m going to use the Big 3 for now in topical format not oral.
10% minoxidil-finasteride solution, applying daily twice.
Adding in ketaconozole shampoo , even though my dermat didn’t tell me anything about this, I’m still gonna start using it instead of the regular shampoo I was using.
Dermatologist also didn’t mention microneedling. So I’ll not do it for now atleast for 4 months until i visit her again.
I asked them if I can take oral finasteride, they declined and said I’m still in my growth phase and it might potentially hinder my sexual growth, so no oral finasteride for now.
Let’s see how the treatment works out.
Here are the pics as of now before i have started my treatment

Update as of June 02-
So I went to another dermat on 31st of May. They were going to prescribe me minoxidil 2.5 my tablet, I interrupted them and asked for side effects. They dropped the idea and prescribed me tropical min/fin combo only 5% one. She told me that the 10% concentration would result in a lot more shedding.
This dermatologist also prescribed ketaconozole shampoo, so I’ll be adding it in my regime.
I’ve started using minoxidil finasteride solution of 5% since my father had it in his locker, I’ll use this for a month and then switch to 10% one once the bottle gets over.
Also the dermatologist told me about prp/gfc , they said prp and gfc both are almost same results wise so i can do any one of them.
I asked her about microneedling she said they do that while prp. I’m thinking of getting it started as well not now , but after 2 months.
I’ll have to go for a review after 2 months at which point i might start prp as well.
I’m thinking of getting a derma stamp as well, to do microneedling at home especially for forehead where hairline has receded alot. All the derma stamps that I can see online have a lot of needles 100-140, tressless ai recommended me to get something that has 24-62 needles but I can’t find any. Also don’t have to budget to get a derma pen. That’s all, any advice would be highly appreciated!

Starting with min and topical fin is a solid approach for aggressive AGA. Keep using min daily and ketoconazole for scalp health. You can add microneedling later if needed to boost results. Monitor your progress and give it several months to see changes. For more info, check out The Beginner’s Guide.

Thanks mate, appreciate your kind words. I will be visiting another dermatologist in a bigger city, day after tomorrow. After her second opinion I’ll be starting my treatment for this unfortunate problem.
