I have been taking dutasteride for at least 9 months. At first 0.5 ED then dropped down to 0.5 EOD with no problem.
Never had a problem.
Recently I had to take arimidex (AI) 0.25mg ED and I took it roughly for 3 months (until end of march) to succumb high E effects (less than 0.25 I’d get high estrogen sides).
So after that I reduced dutasteride to 0.5 EOD and switched from arimidex to Raloxifene 60mg ED, which I took for a month and then stopped.
9 days ago I started raloxifene again (high E sides) and after switching to raloxifene ago my hair loss has worsened so much THATS ACTUALLY CRAZY. By the way I was already losing more hair than usual before hopping on raloxifene, which might have worsened my condition.
I lose some shorter and finer hair strands which look miniaturized, but from the picture I believe the majority looks like regular hair, right?
Blood tests look fine, DHT is in the 280ng/L range, E is actually on the lower side (15 to 20, ng/L but I switched from arimidex to raloxifene a while ago so it should have increased and prolactin is 37ug/L.
Since I started shedding I introduced oral minoxidil 5mg, dermastamping 1.5mm once a week and ru58841 on the vertex (cause I am not seeing major recession on temples
Switching from arimidex to raloxifene might have disrupted your hormonal balance, potentially leading to increased shedding. It’s possible your body is adjusting, which might take some time. Your current regimen with oral min, dermastamping, and ru58841 is solid; just give it more time to stabilize and show results, as treatments can take months. For the shed hairs, it’s hard to tell the type from the photo, but continue monitoring to see if the treatments improve density over time. If shedding persists significantly, consider consulting about hormonal balance and prolactin levels.
Yeah prolactin was rather high (37), but it was when I was taking and stopping arimidex so I had pretty imbalanced estrogens that kept spiking, it should be getting better already.
I’m closely monitoring I’m concerned cause I started seeing scalp again with wet hair and it doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better, and on top of that some of the hair that I lose are actually miniaturized, which I don’t understand how that’s possible given I’ve always been taking dut
I am not a smoker. I only smoke once a week 3/4 of a packet, but this year around 1 month and a half ago I went on vacation and smoked 3/4 packet per day + took like 7 to 10 nic pouches ranging from 10 to 13mg nicotine, which sums up to over 200mg of nicotine for that week.
Last year, before starting Finasteride same thing happened. I went on vacation with an electronic cigarette and smoked 180mg of nicotine in 3/4 days and around a month and a half later I started losing hair so I hopped on Finasteride.
