Top of my scalp started thinning at 17. I was on oral finasteride and topical minoxidil for 4 years, along with 5 sessions of microneedling with PRP. It had no effect at all, positive or negative. Hair loss continued until I had to start shaving my head, so I stopped all medication. I also tried six months of dutasteride which did nothing. Last year my dermatologist recommended oral minoxidil, which also hasn’t had an effect.
What else can I do at this point? I’m looking into laser diode caps but I’m not certain if they’re a scam or not.
Since you’ve tried most treatments without success, buzzing your hair short might be a practical option while experimenting with less common approaches. Laser caps aren’t proven effective for AGA.
