Hi all,
I have been losing since I was 17 (I’m 20 now). I’m in shape and eat pretty decently and am active in the gym. Didn’t really come to terms with it until last year when I started on topical then eventually switched to oral fin+min (hims).
It seems that after a year I haven’t had any improvement, let alone achieve baseline. Still losing handfuls in the shower and mostly short hairs. Never experienced a crazy shedding period either.
I don’t think I have had side effects with fin besides dry eyes. The minoxidil seems to be taking effect as I have a lot more hair coverage and my hair is growing pretty fast, just losing density. That being said I’m wondering if I should switch to dut, or maybe RU or something like that.
I am going to start micro needling as well.
Any help would be appreciated thank you very much!
If fin isn’t working well after a year, switching to dut could be more effective since it’s stronger against DHT. Keep using min if it’s working for coverage. You can try microneedling to boost results. RU58841 is another option, but it’s less studied. For more info, check out the Beginner’s Guide. Dry eyes can be a side effect, so you could consider topical options to reduce that.
Thank you for the reply. I looked at your guide and I am going to try ketoconazole and microneedling for a little bit, then RU because I want to avoid topicals as I have curly hair and they tend to make me look greasy. If nothing works, I’ll try dut.
