I’ve been takin fin for 10 + years, oral min for 2-3 (2.5mg). I mainly dealt with a receding hairline, but over the past year or two, the top of my head has gotta way thinner, and now I realize the sides and back as well are starting to thin. Its been not as easy to notice because I’ve had long hair, but I could even feel the difference. I’m very against taking Dutasteride since I ruined my libido, and made it impossible to get an erection. I’m wondering if I could make try topical Dutasteride, or stacking other things on top of what I’m doing. I doubt derma rolling alone could save the day. Ive looked into Breezula, Ru, and other things.
I’m also wondering if my Crohns disease is casuing some of this, and that maybe I should try a JAK inhibitor in case its immune?
How old are you and how aggresive is your hair loss ? Topical anti-androgen is what you can add, probably not gonna change anything. Topical dutasteride is at best as good as oral finasteride. Go to derm to check if crohns is fucking with your hair. Dutasteride doesn’t lead to lower libido, you have other issue(s) causing this
I’m 32. I had a transplant on my temples 5 years ago, and only recently started thinning on the scalp, and now globally. I’ve been taking fin a long time. At one point added dutasteride, and within a week, could not get an erection for the life of me. A man knows when something is off, and it was. Return somewhat after stopping but it was never quite the same. I’ve continued with fin. What about dermaroll, ru, breezula?
It’s not physiologically possible to have permanent side effects on dut/fin so idk what to tell you. Dut/Fin and minoxidil do 90% of the job, dermaroll ru and breezula maybe will give you a 10% improvement. If I understand correctly, your hairloss is aggressive so maybe fin is not enough, if dut is not an option, then try RU or breezula, I personally think its cope but give a try. Dermaroll is not viable long term, but will boost minoxidil response if low reponsder, And like i said before, wheck your crohns. GL
I appreciate your response, but I’m not sure how you could confidently state that its not physiologically possible. I can tell you, first hand, that ever since I tried DUT for one week, my penis changed, not just in abililty to maintain or produced an erection, but the shape. All of this is is scary, seems like hyperbole, but its not something you can imagine or will to happen. I was on plenty of other drugs / fin, just fine - theres no reason for me to lie. Also, post fin syndrome is a well known thing, just not “proven,” but theres a reason why many other countries are banning it or putting on boxed warnings on the box. Multiple studies show rat’s genitalia being altered / reduced after use of fin and especially dut, with no clear cut signs of improvement. We can agree to disagree here, but the confidence some people have about the mechanisms of drugs is a bit astounding to me.
Respectfully Seth, you don’t understand the medication or medications. It can give temporary side effects, never permanent. I’ve read almost all the literature on this matter, please show data or explain how can permanent side effects can happen on 5ARi

I’m not sure how you could miss those, or the thousands of papers put out by the PFS foundation, or just the countless stories from people like me and others. You might think you understand the drugs in theory, but the real world effects have shown long lasting and even permanent problems in many men, including me. No piece of data is going to convince me that it didn’t permanently change not only my libido and sensitivity, but size. I also really don’t think you should be commenting with theoretical knowledge when you don’t have any idea the amount of people who have suffered and killed themselves over this drug. By the way, even if there isnt the data, a lack of data doesn’t mean something doesn’t exist.
You’re basing your arguments just on the studies that confirm your bias. There are multiple studies done better and with far more participants (over 10 000 participants, yours is 54) that show a decrease of side effects over time and no signs of permanent side effects, but you don’t seem to care about those studies. At the end of the day, make your own conclusions, take the alternative medications like topical anti-androgens and pray that it works for you. I remember this study that had a finasteride group and a placebo group, in the people that discontinued their finasteride or placebo because of sides, 50% of the finasteride discontinuers recovered sexual function and only 40% of the placebo discontinuers recovered sexual function. Please explain to me why did the placebo get lasting sexual side effects after stopping the placebo when they were only taking a placebo ?
Actually I think its the opposite, it seems you’re basing your arguments on the studies that confirm your arguments, and mine are on not only studies, but organizations with thousands of testimonies, and my own story. Tell me why there is such a backlash across the world for this drug if all of these side effects are temporary? Look, if you need larger studies to confirm this reality, thats fine. But please try to understand that just because something hasnt been proven doesnt mean its a reality. With regards to your study, it is with finasteride, not dutasteride, which is taken way less than finasteride, and thats how it happened to me. I’ve wanted to sue for years, but realize thats impossible.
Nothing popular about claiming what I have, if thats what you’re implying. My own story is the only one I need to know. Theres’ nothing more immediate, clear, A = B thats happened to me in my entire life than what happened that week. Like a bat breaking your leg, theres no doubt what broke it. Remember, Dut, not fin. Your ignoring of world wide alarm sounding and your refusal to extend the benefit of the doubt to thousands of men is sad.
