Diffuse Hair thinning all around the head with no noticable difference in thinning

Hello. I’m 22 and I have been losing hair pretty intensely for about a year now. My MPB has been pretty hard to track since I have lost hair very diffusely, all around the head, neck, sides, everywhere. I have receded my hairline a bit aswell and my hair has started to thin out, losing an approximately 300 hairs a day, but my question is:

Is it normal to lose long strands of hair? I don’t really lose any short hairs that I can see, almost always long hairs that can come from everywhere on the scalp. I can’t really see a difference from the usual MPB that should appear. My hair is equally thin all around the head. Is this normal? I know MPB can be different from person to person, but I guess I really can’t accept my hairloss since it flipped so fast lol. My genetics are fine, my mothers side all have hair 50+ and same on fathers side. I have checked vitamins and such and they were good. And I know I should probably stick to my dermatologist instead of reddit but I want to give it a shot

losing long strands can point to Telogen Effluvium (TE), which is a temporary shedding often due to stress or hormonal changes. since you mentioned equal thinning, keep looking into both MPB and potential TE triggers. treatments like min or fin might help if it’s MPB. check the Beginner’s Guide for more. if it seems more like TE, identifying and reducing triggers is key. treatment can vary based on the actual cause, and TE usually recovers on its own once the trigger is addressed.
