Debating about taking OM at 17

Hello there, so I’m 17 with a bit of a receding hairline and a little bit of a thinning crown as well as some overall thinning (my hair is thin from itself) which I am willing to treat. It’s not all that noticeable but it’s definitely there. I’m aware that taking minoxidil without finasteride is not as effective as the combination of both but I’m just not willing to take the risk of disrupting my hormones at such a crucial age. I’m debating about taking OM because I’m sure it’s better than doing nothing but it’s scary to me since I still have decent hair left and I don’t want to ruin anything. I know it shouldn’t be possible but will monxidil make my hair fall out and not come back (apart from the initial shed) and does it speed up MPB? I will also use rosemary oil, ketoconazole shampoo, hair peptides, microneedling and do scalp massages as well as a healthy lifestyle. Do you think this will be a good treatment for my age or should I not start OM? Thanks!

Minoxidil can be effective even without fin, so starting OM could help improve your thinning. The initial shed is normal, and hair usually regrows. Your current routine with ketoconazole and microneedling is solid, and sticking to this could benefit your hair health. If you’re worried, you can always start with a lower dose of OM.
