Considering Tretinoin for Scalp Due to Minoxidil Ineffectiveness?

I recently read an article regarding the use of tretinoin to increase the effectiveness of minoxidil. I’m wondering if anyone is using this and if you are seeing results?

I recently went for my derm check up and was prescribed Tretinoin for some problem ingrown hairs on my face that get hardened skin on top rather than coming out. I only need a little bit for this issue and I’m left with a lot in tube when I get another.

I’m wondering if I should try using it on my scalp because I am feeling the oral minoxidil and finasteride isn’t as effective as I’d hoped.

I also heard of ketoconazole topical for scalp use. Any thoughts?

Tretinoin can increase min absorption, possibly improving results. Be cautious with irritation—start slow and see how your scalp reacts. Ketoconazole is good for scalp health and could help with shedding and inflammation. Check out The Beginner’s Guide for more info.
