Considering Switch from Topical to Oral Min: Concerns About Shedding and Side Effects

I have been on 1mg fin and topical min from hims for 4 years or so. I have been relatively happy with my results. It hasn’t say got better, but it’s definitely not worse from baseline. Hair is generally thicker and healthier and I have a style that works for me and what I’ve got.

I have been pretty consistent with taking my fin pill everyday or nearly everyday, but often end up with half a bottle of minoxidil left as it’s quite inconvenient and I often forget.

I have been thinking about moving onto the combined 1mg fin and 3mg min chewable they offer for better consistency as it will be easier to manage. I am worried about side effects though, mainly excess shedding and the dizziness and swelling. Is this common? Shall I continue with the excess supply of mine I have whilst I transition? What are your experiences?

I just want my hair back.

definitely no if you respond well to topical min yes if you are poor responder to topical min but only under the supervision of a doctor with routine (eg daily) blood pressure monitoring and ecg checks. .

also:pfizer’s loniten is likely better than hims or any other brand’s chewable pills. pfizer’s loniten/lonolox for oral minoxidil. perhaps some other registered eg. roma brand, this is it. i don’t know about hims and have nothing bad to say but i would put more trust for brands above. avoid indian drugs if possible, they sometimes overfill and it may be lethal.
