Concerned About Increased Hair Loss After 2 Months on Finasteride - Should I Stop?

Image 1 shows my hair one day before starting finasteride. Image 2 shows my hair after 2 months of taking it. Right now I’m thinking, maybe I shouldn’t have started this?

ChatGPT tells me that finasteride doesn’t bring back the hair on the temples that was lost due to the medication. So what was the point of taking it then? I just accelerated hair loss on my forehead by years and got nothing in return. I know those hairs would have fallen out anyway, but not within 2 months. And now, as I understand it, they won’t come back.

What should I do? Should I stop taking the medication? This is terrible.

Shedding after starting fin is common as hair cycles reset. It can take up to a year to see how well it works for you. Switching meds or stopping now might prevent you from getting full results. If you’re worried, consider adding min for extra stimulus, as it can help with regrowth by acting as a fertilizer. Read more in The Beginner’s Guide.
