I’ve been taking oral finasteride 1 mg daily and using 5% topical minoxidil (with 0.1% topical finasteride) for about 2 years. I initially had some regrowth, but over the last 6 months my hairline has started thinning again and gaps have appeared. Overall my hairline is similar to when I started treatment. Has anyone experienced this? Would adding low-dose dutasteride or oral minoxidil be a better next step and I don’t want side effects also
You’re seeing thinning despite fin and min treatment, which can sometimes happen as treatments plateau. Dutasteride is stronger than fin and might help more with DHT suppression but consider topical options to minimize side effects. Oral min is also a more potent option. Always weigh the benefits against potential side effects.
