I have diffuse thinning which makes the use of topical minoxidil not only more costly (lasts only 2 weeks for diffuse thinning) but also to an extent ineffective even combined with minoxidil sulfate or tretinoin (I do not use and against skin-invasive techniques like dermarolling/microneedling due to risk of infection and potentially ruining HT.). Not to mention topical minoxidil is hazardous to pets and very, very inconvenient and requires twice daily usage. Thus I have to resort to oral minoxidil, my primary source of acquiring which really is via getting it compounded by a pharmacy as original oral minoxidil in its tablet form made by pfizer, roma etc. is NOT available to my knowledge in any pharmacy in any part of Turkey. I am planning on obtaining it via foreign contacts if it is legal but for the moment this is what I have to rely upon.
Can somebody provide me with relevant information on whether if it is as good as the original minoxidil or not. I do NOT know what binders, excipients etc. are used in this type of minoxidil.
My questions are, 1)Is this as good as original minoxidil if it is not a tablet but rather in its powder form? 2)How important are excipients/binders etc., it is likely the pharmacy I obtain it cannot use the exact same inactive ingredients as large pharmaceutical brands that manufacture medicines at a large commerical scale due to a lack of either knowledge or legal issues maybe even both. Thanks
!
The oral minoxidil here has been obtained from a licesned pharmacy here in Turkey legally and is only used for personal use. Yes it sounds sketchy to get such pills made, but nope it is not in reality. Dose:2.5mg, taken once every day. No significant ΔBP (blood pressure changes) had occured.
