Treatment for ~6 months

No finasteride. My diffuse thinning was likely caused due to poor scalp care. I used to take boiling hot showers every day. My scalp was itchy and flaky (not dandruff). Lots of split ends. Hairs are not falling out anymore. Did this under the guidance of a dermatologist.

wow congrats, huge progress. Lucky that regimen solved everything for you! Itchy and flaky sounds like seb derm, which can definitely be the root cause.

Thanks bro! I think it’s important to bring awareness that all hairloss isn’t caused by DHT. I see a lot of people on the subreddit in particular telling people to start blasting finasteride right away, but if your hair & scalp is unhealthy definitely look into treating that first. Always recommend seeing a dermatologist that specializes in hair loss for their opinion!
