Can someone explain the drug interaction between dutastride and ketoconazole please?

My dutastride pill has said I should not use it with ketoconazole so I stopped my keto shampoo and it has been really hard so far. I have extremely oily scalp. My scalp hurts from excess sebum 2 day after using clarifying shampoo.

I’ve searched on Google. Some papers say it increases dutastride potency, some are saying it’ll decrease it.

Idk what to do right now. Thanks.

the ket warning with dut is likely about potential liver interactions, but in shampoo form, it’s barely absorbed, so it might not be a big deal. Some studies say it could even boost dut’s effects. If your oily scalp is causing pain, ask your doctor—they might suggest using keto shampoo in moderation or trying alternatives like salicylic acid, tea tree oil shampoos, MCT oil, etc to manage the sebum. No need to tough it out when there are other options
