Hi. I have been on oral dutasteride at 0.5mg for 4 months. So far the acne had not cleared up and not only that but I see thickening of hairs on my arm. Does it mean dutasteride is NOT working? I plan to up it to 1mg. Thanks in advance.
No, acne is multifactorial and not a reliable proxy for dutasteride response, and hair follicles at different body sites can respond differently to androgen changes, and on different time scales.
