8 Months on Dutasreride and Hair Loss Progressively Worse

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for advice on my hairloss journey. For five years I was on finasteride (1 mg daily) and saw good stabilization—my hairline remained largely intact and any loss was very gradual. Then I noticed my thinning accelerate and spread diffusely across the top and crown. Eight months ago I switched to dutasteride (0.5 mg daily), hoping for better results, but the three photos I’ve shared (one at 6 months, one at 7 months, and one at 8 months) show continued miniaturization: once-thick hairs are now fine vellus strands, and overall density has declined. Clearly dutasteride isn’t doing the trick. Has anyone experienced something similar? What helped you—additional medications, topical therapies, lifestyle changes, or professional treatments? I appreciate any insights or suggestions.
