6+ Months of Shedding After Switching to Oral Minoxidil and Dutasteride — Is This Normal?

Hi everyone, I could really use some help or insights.

I switched from topical minoxidil to oral minoxidil on December 4th, 2024. Then, in early January 2025, I also started taking dutasteride 0.5mg daily.
Now it’s July 7th, 2025, and I’m still experiencing continuous shedding. I honestly don’t understand how long this is supposed to last. Has anyone had a similar experience? I’d really appreciate any comments or advice. Thank you!

P.S. I’m using oral minoxidil MinoxyPark 10mg, ordered from MinoxidilExpress, but I’m starting to have doubts about the quality. That said, I did notice some vellus hairs appearing in places on my body where I didn’t have any before — though I’m not sure if that’s due to the minoxidil or just some kind of random hormonal fluctuation (i am male 23 y.o.)

6+ months of shedding can be frustrating but not uncommon. With oral min and dut combined, you’re likely seeing a big shift in your hair cycles. Shedding usually stabilizes after a few months, transitioning into regrowth, so you might notice changes soon. Keep an eye on the quality of your source like MinoxyPark, as it’s important to trust what you’re using. Vellus hair is a positive sign. Hang tight, as it can take up to a year to see full results.
