Mild diffuse thinner here. I have been using using topical min fin solution for last two years since I started having hair fall. It halted hairfall, and also increased hair thickness. After a year of use( almost 9 months ago), I decided to hop on to oral fin since I wasn’t seeing new regrowths. I started with 1.25mg EOD, and immediately, within a week I started getting crazy shed. I’d like to think that was a fin induced shed. Crazy part is I sheded straight for 5months and slowly stopped at 6. Since I sheded so much, my volume was nuked.But I was glad it stopped and was expecting the density to come back even stronger.
But it’s been almost 5 months that fin sheding has stopped but I don’t see any new signs of regrowths. No new vellus hairs on top. I am even worse than before I started fin. Where did all the sheded hair even go??? Aren’t they supposed to be back or even vellus hair after 5 months of shed and 5 months after that?? How can I be worse than pre-fin, even after fin shedding has stopped 5 months ago. Please help me understand what’s going on.
Seeing no regrowth 5 months in is frustrating, but it’s not uncommon. Hair cycles are slow, and fin can take a year for visible change. Keep using min and consider dermarolling to stimulate regrowth. If you still see no change after a year, you might need to reassess your approach. Hang in there, it takes time.
