32M Shedding on Minoxidil & Microneedling After 4 Months - When to Expect Results?

I’ve been on Fin 1.25mg daily for the last 8 years. I’m 32 now. I had a transplant when I was 24 with good results to bring back my hairline, but I always lacked good density.

A few years ago, I started minoxidil foam 5%. But used it very inconsistently and just once a day. Then stopped for a bit.

Ever since around mid May 2025 I have been using it twice daily. And combined it with micro-needling with a pen at 1.5mm. Didn’t notice anything for a while but in mid July I noticed a ton of shedding. I still notice some shedding even now in September, closing in on the 4 month mark.

How long does the shedding last, when can I expect positive results?

shedding with min and microneedling can last 3-6 months. you’re close to seeing new growth around the 4-6 month mark. keep using your treatment consistently, and you might start noticing improvement soon. results are usually more noticeable by 12 months. hang in there!
