32M, Grade 2-3 Hair Loss, Can't Use Finasteride or Minoxidil Due to Side Effects and Psoriasis

Hi everyone, I am male 32, and I have modest hair loss (grade 2-3 Nortwood scale). I’ve been losing hair for 10 years but it has gotten more aggressive in the last period.

I tried to take finasteride once years ago and it gave me immediate erectile disfunction. I had the same thing with saw palmetto after a month of intake.

I cannot apply minoxidil because I have a bit of scalp psoriasis. When applied, minoxidil causes redness and creates scalp plaques. I tried both commerical and galenic formulations without success.

What options do I have left?

hey, since fin and min both caused trouble, you might look into trying oral minoxidil as it’s often better tolerated than topical. cop top dutasteride as an alternative to fin might help too. for the scalp psoriasis, ketoconazole shampoo can ease symptoms, and adding CBD with MCT oil might help. look into microneedling as it can improve absorption without flaring up your psoriasis. check out Product finder - Tressless for more options.

Saw palmetto giving you ED sounds that it’s 100% a nocebo effect, it’s probably all psychological. Maybe try dutasteride instead, if you keep getting ED it might be a good idea to contact a psychologist, or try to keep up with the treatment and it eventually might go away as you keep taking the pills, either that or reduce dosing.

Example, start dutasteride at one pill per week, then 2 pills per week, then 3 pills per week and so on
