I’m 25 years old and started taking oral minoxidil almost 2 years ago. I had two cases of telogen effluvium, according to my dermatologist (he prescribed vitamins to take for 3 months). The effluvium cleared up, and even so, I continued taking the vitamins every other day, or every two days. I’ve been using a DHT blocker for almost a year. I used finasteride for 5 months and dutasteride (Dastere) for 6 months. With each haircut, my hair seems thinner. I’m starting to add topical minoxidil occasionally as well, as was the case in the second image (where the hair is oily and all parted). When it’s long, my hair looks super full, but after showering (lol). I don’t know what other kind of treatment I could use. Another issue is that I’ve always had episodes of severe seborrheic dermatitis; I don’t know if there’s any improvement or if it would get better.
You’re already on oral min and dut, which should help in the long term. Try using ketoconazole shampoo or cream for the sebderm, as inflammation can make things worse. Consider adding CBD with MCT oil to calm the scalp. Topical minoxidil might enhance results locally, so it could be worth continuing. Hair treatments take time, so keep consistent with the routine.
