23M Seeking Feedback on Topical Fina/ TRT Combo for Rapid Hair Loss

Hi all,

I am a 23 m and have recently begun noticing signs of hairloss specifically on the sides of my hairline. Its very minimal for now (norwood 1.5) but I feel like the loss has come on pretty rapidly and I want to do what I can to minimize any future losses.

I visited a Derma last week, was given steroid shot and prescribed a topical treatment of Fina .1/TRT 0.015 30g from “Medrock Pharmacy”. I have been trying to do research on others who have tried this or are familiar with Medrock itself, but information is pretty sparse. The prescription is pretty expensive ($49 for a month supply) so I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I honestly just want opinions to see if others have heard of this, can speak on the effectiveness of this specific fin/trt combo or if there are other, more effective treatments I should be perusing instead.

I appreciate any help!

“Fina 0.1/TRT 0.015” likely means topical finasteride 0.1% plus tretinoin 0.015%? Not testosterone therapy. The steroid injection suggests your dermatologist may suspect alopecia areata or inflammation rather than simple recession, so confirm the diagnosis first. For confirmed androgenetic alopecia, the best-supported treatments remain finasteride and 5% minoxidil; the pharmacy itself matters less than the formulation, dosing, and consistency.
